Description: I have spent a lot of time researching the history of this couture dress and will do my best to summarize that here. If you have additional questions, please ask. Be sure you take a look at every single picture. There are pictures from the 2003 Michael Casey catalog, which is available online, as well as a picture of this dress or one identical, tho I’m wondering if an identical even exists, being worn at an occasion, published in a newspaper in California. When this was featured at Neiman Marcus, the dress probably would have been in their 5K range couture line. This dress is completely silk, probably with the exception to the support material underneath, and the ruffles. The lining, and the dress itself are of the finest rose pink silk. This silk is iridescent and reflects the light almost to a peachy Orange tone. The dress itself has a fitted bodice and is sleeveless. It does not stop at the natural waist that comes down in a mermaid style to about the hips. It is also shorter in the front and the back, giving it a kind of training, but not much of one. The hem of the ruffles has a mesh support of some sort. The intricacy of the stress is unreal. The handstitching of it can be seen on the interior details. It is the finest of workmanship. I am a seamstress and I really have never seen anything like this in workmanship. The only issues I find is some wear to the fabric at the point of stretch at the waist line. You can tell it was taxed at that point by the original wearer. See pics. Also, there is a small light stain in the hem, very faint and hidden. Also, I’m not sure it’s flaws, but there are some stretched out pieces in the stiffening at hem. Again, not seen. I took pictures of my daughter in the dress so that you could see it on a real person. She has never worn this to an event. She typically wears a size 6 and is 5-10 before heels. Dimensions are as follows: Pit to pit 16.5 Actual bust 34” (I measured all the bust panels at the fullest point and combined) Waist 27 Front length 61” Back length 72” This comes from a clean non-smoking home and will come very carefully boxed and insured.
