W Mint Mark Up until 1997, all the coins of the uncirculated sets were struck in Ottawa. However in 1997, 1998 and 2000, the production of Uncirculated Sets was split between Ottawa and Winnipeg. Except for coins struck in 1997, all coins minted in Winnipeg received a W mint mark on the obverse side. Mintage was unknown as to how many W coins were produced.
