It can be used by creatively propping up with one or two trekking poles instead, and sometimes I use nylon string on the tent-pole loops and tie to a tree. Yes there are better tents out there but this is an amazing find for the money. Two adults 5' 10" about 150lbs could squeeze into this tent shoulder to shoulder if need be, with about 4" space at your head or feet. Great when used on short thru hikes. I actually put it on top of a double size air mattress, but I think it would fit inside, which is what I'd do next time since our sleeping bags slid around a lot on the plastic floor. Very easy to put up and take down. The only complaint I have is that one of the pockets that the poles slide through began to come loose from its stitching the first time I put the tent up, but I can repair that. The rain fly is yellow, not orange as it appears in the picture, and could be a little bigger, and the outer doors don't zip shut across the bottom but the inside netting doors do.Totally different in color than ordered.30 Dec 69I ordered the bright blue with yellow and orange but the actual color is not what is shown but rather a baby blue and grey. I purchased this as a play tent for my child to play in safely while we are setting up our big tent at the campground. I set it up in my house to see what it would be like not staked down. Other than a little struggle to get the first pole to stay in the first hole while I went to secure the other side, it was easy to put up and stayed up well without any stakes. Overall it is well made for the price -- the floor is a tarp style and comes up 6 or so inches on the sides -- the tent poles look about the same as larger tents -- but you can tell the lower quality screen mesh on the door. On a perfectly clear night, it would probably be fine outside, but definitely this shouldn't be out in the rain! An adult *could* sleep in this if they normally curl up a bit to sleep -- or two children. I'd say it's a great value for the money if you want something for your child to play in indoors (it's a bit big for that though unless you have a big room) and/or use outside occasionally on a clear night.
