The Macurdies had been farmers for generations, and Curtis Macurdy would have been content to spend his life with his exotically beautiful wife Varia, earning a living by tilling his plot of land in the American Midwest. Varia was from Yuulith, a magical world separated from Earth by only a dimensional barrier that could sometimes be broached. When her superiors in the Sisterhood demanded that she return to Yuulith, she disobeyed - and so one day Macurdy came home and found that the Sisterhood had abducted Varia, taking her from Farside, as they called our world, to Yuulith. Shipping History: We have shipped well over 6,000 packages (containing more than 10,000 items), with more than 1000 of those packages going to international destinations, since we started selling in 2002. We have not had a report of a book damaged in transit since shortly after we started selling (it took us a couple of damaged shipments to learn how to package books properly to be sure they wouldn't get damaged). In the first years, our exprience was that the post office would lose a package about every one to two years. Then the post office put better tracking measures in place and it has been well over 10 years since a customer has reported a lost shipment (packages do still occasionally get sorted incorrectly, delaying delivery but that is fairly rare). Sales Tax Beginning January 1, 2019, eBay will start collecting sales tax on items being purchased for shipment to states that have passed legislation requiring that sales tax be collected on items being sold for shipment to their state. This is being done by eBay, I have no control over it. At the present time, I will still be responsible for collecting California Sales tax on items shipped to a California address.
