The obverse: from above is the coat of arms of the USSR with 15 turns of the tape, below it are the letters «СССР» (USSR), below the face value of the coin - the number «5» and below the word «РУБЛЕЙ» (RUBLES), below is the year of issue of the coin «1991». The reverse: In the center of the coin is the image of the monument dedicated to David Sasunsky. Under it is the inscription «ЕРЕВАН» (YEREVAN).
