These cards, unlike earlier Conlon Collection products (1981, 1983 and 1984), are standard card size (2-1/2" by 3-1/2"). This series was limited to 12,000 numbered sets - the 61st card having the individual set number imprinted upon it. All cards are in sepia tones. This set includes an numbered certificate card. The certificate card is individually numbered of 12,000 sets produced. Therefore, the 1986 Conlon Collection set is more than 4 times scarcer than the very-difficult-to-find 1995 Conlon set which had a reported distribution of 50,000 sets. (That 1995 set, when available factory-sealed, typically sells for $150.00 and up.) If the collector lacks this excellent set, he should grab it when available at reasonable cost. With a production of just twelve thousand (12,000) individually numbered sets - distributed nationwide thanks to The Sporting News' involvement - this an increasingly difficult set to find. Remember, the highly prized Perez-Steele Galleries Hall of Fame postcard set sells for significantly more; yet was produced in similar quantities (10,000 sets).
