Description: This week I'm offering a variety of cards from non-sport sets of the Fifties and Sixties. Monster and horror movies were big during that period, and various companies issued sets picturing monsters from the classic movies of the Thirties, as well as those from the then-current sci-fi movies of the Fifties. These sets have remained immensely popular with collectors. The Nu-Card company issued several such sets in the early Sixties; they were done on the cheap, but in spite of their simple and crude nature, there's something charming about the sets. The backs of the cards featured groan-inducing jokes that only an eight-year-old would love. This is card #6 from the 1961 Horror Monster series, picturing "Teen-Age Werewolf." The first series of this set featured green borders and had the card number on the front, pictured against a skull. The card is in acceptable shape with corner wear and some erased pencil markings on the back (see scans for condition). All in all, an attractive example of a Sixties phenomenon.
