Description: This hat (which is definitely in used condition) is all that remains of the Davy Crockett outfit, of which I was the proud recipient in the late 1950s. The fringed top and trousers are long gone, and this hat, as well as being time and play-worn, is also missing its tail. There is no brand-name on the hat, so I am not sure who made it. Anyway, it was a lot of fun to play in, all those years ago. There was a lot of interest in the American hero, frontiersman and House of Representatives member, David (‘Davy’) Crockett (1786-1936), who died at the Alamo, during that period, partly because of the Disney TV series, starring Fess Parker and Buddy Ebsen.
