Having collected Daisy products for years, this is the best example I have come across. The SET INCLUDES ALL OF THE FOLLOWING: 1. ONE (1) Bright red plastic TARGETTE shooting gallery/ gun holder/ mini bb shot tin holders. Encased in this near perfect RED plastic shell are the Ivory White spinners looking like playing card figure targets. All Like-New with No cracks. 2. Two (2) red, blue and white litho FULL metal tubes of mini original Daisy steel (lead?) ammo BB’s. Unused 3. One (1) original page from Coronet magazine from the Xmas edition of 1949 advertising the Targette as a “NEW GIFT IDEA”. It is in a protective thin plastic sleeve. 4. One (1) chrome looking (nickel) plated TARGETEER 118 air pistol with adjustable rear sight and shot tube. Both appear unused. These date from 1947-1952 . NOTE: This was a low velocity - less than 100 fps and intended for indoor use. At nearly 80 years old it no doubt has dropped down from 100 fps. A video lets you hear it fire. The gun is heavy steel and 10” long . All the imprinting on the top of Daisy is sharp and clear. The shot tube is perfect. Little if any surface wear and NO RUST OR CHROME SHED WHATSOEVER!!!!!! 5. One (1) ORIGINAL 1949 set of #320 PRINTED TARGETTE TABLE TARGET PISTOL SET OF INSTRUCTIONS. Great condition! 6. One (1) set of printed TARGETEER 118 AIR GUN instructions (loading, shooting, etc). 7.(One) (1) Paper Copy of LeFEVER OCT. 1938 patent/schematic. Black and White . 8. ONE (1) 3x5” (seller Original CREATED) refrigerator magnet bearing colored advertising image of TARGETEER 118 from Boys Magazine from XMAS 1950?? 9. One (1) High quality colored repro on heavy cardboard of 1949 point of sale display card for DAISY #320 - TARGETTE SET. This states that this set is A SMART GIFT -SAFE FAMILY FUN. It is two sided with a Cartoon, showing family fun, created by the famous cartoonist (?) BOB VITTUR- was known for working for Knight Features and created: “RIGHT AROUND HOME WITH MYRTLE”. The Daisy point of sale is like his “MYRTLE FAMILY FUN” with their TARGETTE. This repro pop was created by Rick Jones. He can be found on ebay. 10. One (1) repro color hang tag off rear Targeteer sight , explaining how to “SIGHT”. Alignment/setting rear sight NOTE: The TARGETEER is a low FPS Adult toy. Range no greater than 10-12 feet. Will not break a light bulb. Always use protective eye goggles and NEVER allow minors to handle without supervision. Never, never point at yours or others’ EYES. Only use authentic Daisy mini BB. However #6 bird shot might work. To prevent jamming, discard deformed shot. NOTE: Due to age, the metal shot tins should not be inserted more than 1/4” into rear bottom holes of red plastic gallery base. The seller, with a lot of effort and care, used heat and a plastic-safe silicone spray lubricant, to free them without causing any damage. Trying to push these all the way in, runs risk of the following adverse events: 1. Cracking base2. Jamming and can’t remove 3. Ruining set. Also extended and not fully inserted these tubes provide a deeper and sturdier/stable base for the gallery. In this way it permits people to read the writing on the tubes; Improving display interest. If you're very careful and handy, maybe you can sand inside to easily slip in tubes. The plastic has shrunk after 80 years. All the seams of the red gallery are tight as are those of the Targeteer gun. This offering is for the serious Daisy aficionado/collector, Vintage toy buff, toy museum or just nostalgia. This offering has no peer on the internet. It was assembled with care and thought.
