Description: Up for auction is a beautiful postcard cover from a guard in the concentration camp in Dachau Germany. Postmarked February 6, 1942. Very clear Dachau cancels and markings. Stampless Waffen SS feldpost cover. Note the Feldpost Totenkopf cancel from the commandant's office at Dachau. Excellent markings and cancels on the cover. The postcard itself depicts the street view of the camp. The photo itself was taken by Friedrich Bauer, official ss photographer. Dachau was the first Nazi concentration camp and was the model on which all other concentration camps were built. For the serious collector of Judaica and Holocaust related philately this is an exceptional item. Cover is in excellent condition but shows wear. Unusual and scarce to see a real picture postcard of the camp actually mailed by a guard.
