A handwritten note, interestingly written from Carnegie Hall and dated May 2 1912 and with a artists' palette-style "Dana" in the signature; evidently the addressee had asked Gibson about using an image he'd drawn; to a Mr. Abbott, and describing the process for using the art, fees & copyright notice; very businesslike and polite; a good indication that Gibson knew his rights and responsibilities and had the ability to take care of his own; about 7 1/2 " x 10" size, written on one side of the paper; Charles Dana Gibson (1867-1944) prominent American illustrator and artist, famous for his "Gibson Girls" and his work depicting women and society of the time; some age-toning, faint old fold-lines; in very good condition.
