Description: Vanity Fair, A Novel Without a Hero by William Makepeace Thackeray. This is the Becky Sharp Edition which has many photographic illustrations of the comedy as produced by Mrs. Fiske and her company of actors. The book is very handsome with black and red lettering on tan/yellow Buckram Cloth. The top of the book is gilded in gold and the edges are deckled. For a 125 year old book, she is in good condition. When you open to the first page, you will see some separation from the binding. The book belonged to Adeline L Weaver, New York, 10/24/1918. What is a true delight are the collection of notes that were placed in front of the back cover. Are they Adeline’s notes? Was this for school? The last thing written was the Vicar of Wakefield. Was that the next book to be read? Of course the notes will be sent with the book.
