Janssen" of the 1st Division in the 19th Corp of the Union, during the American Civil War (1864)Private Janssen relaxes for a moment with his pipe, calmly surveying the long lines of ragged prisoners. Although his new uniform and well fed appearance may lead one to believe that he is a new recruit, the hardened eyes of a veteran peer from beneath his kepi. No longer the callow youth who was so easily beaten in the early battles of the civil war. By now, Jozef is as tough and battle-hardened as his southern opponents. The long war is drawing to a close, and men like Private Janssen will return to the small farms and new frontiers that await them, unaware that their nation has changed forever.The Confederate States of America (CSA), commonly known as the Confederation, were established in 1861, announcing their separation (secession) from the Union, ie the United States of America.
