Description: 1827 George IV Scottish Solid Silver Waiter Tray, possibly later used as a Paten. Full Scottish Hallmarks for James McKay, Edinburgh, 1827. Standing on three panelled feet. Engraved with a crest “OMNIA DEO CONFIDO” (I trust God in all things) Later inscription reading: Presented to Mrs George W. Chapman on the occasion of the opening and dedication of the chapel of All Souls, Ripon Cathedral. 2nd July 1949. In very good pre-loved and used condition with minor age related scratches to the surface and a small shallow linear ding at approx 4 o’clock between crest and edge of tray. Stands straight, no wobble. Diameter: 14.5cm (5. 3/4”) Weight: 187g This piece is already in circulation meaning no new silver has been used. The ultimate in sustainable shopping.
