Description: PCGS authenticated and graded VF 35. Glossy medium brown and light chocolate blending to medium chocolate brown in protected areas. The surfaces are smooth and the eye appeal is nice, but there are some contact marks. The notable marks are a few tiny nicks in the field off the end of the nose, a nick hidden in the hair over the E in LIBERTY, some faint scratches through the bottom of the 18 in the date and under ST in STATES, and a rather strong nick over the O in ONE. Rare LDS (not the latest) with a very strong die crack through TES that outlines a raised retained cud break. One of the finest examples known in this rare die state.Ex; NTL Rare Coin Auctions 3/2000:709 - Jack Wadlington (The Twin Leaf Collection), Stack's Bowers 3/30/2016:10060 - Doctor Thomas Wachtel Collection Year - 1822Variety - N-9Rarity - 5-
