Professionally washed and carded by Alford Family Farms and Spinnery, with great care taken to ensure a wonderful end product. The fiber is pre-washed followed by hand picking of vegetable matter, opening, two washes and two rinses. The scouring process allows for a gentle moving of water through the fiber to avoid agitation. Temperature controls prevent shock to the fleece as it soaks. No harsh chemicals are used in the cleaning of the fleece. A Stonehedge picker and carder process the washed fleece. This GORGEOUS roving is from an alpaca at Alford Family Farm named Tim. the fiber does not have as much white as is appears in the pictures, Tim's fiber is finer than most Huacaya alpacas, almost feels like suri.The fiber is perfect for spinning and knitting into warm garments!
