14K Gold Lavaliere Style Necklace Early 1900s

Description: This is a 14K gold pendant and chain. The pendant has a 0.25 carat (estimated) 4.0 mm red stones that is digitally identified as Almandine Garnet. The secondary stone is a fresh water pearl drop at the end of the pendant. The pearl measure as an irregular 3.0 - 3.5 mm stone. The pendant measures 32.6 mm (1.28 in) including the bail. The width is 14.0 mm (0.55 in). The gold portion of the pendant is 0.8 mm (0.03 in) thick. The bail is stamped on the upper back side as 14K but the stamp has been severely worn so the pendant and chain have been tested with a Keegold gold and platinum tester and shows positive in the 14K range. The Almandine garnet and the pearl were identified by a digital scan process but these stones have not been evaluated by a GIA professional. Manufacture date is believed to be early 1900s (is not Victorian). Total weight for this item including the chain is 2.1 grams. There are some minor anomalies in the shape of the gold framework but not unexpected for a piece that is estimated at 75 to 100 years old.
